((This is an activity check for the candidates. Please post after Ria has))
S'nar had spent half and hour trying to make new knots, but found that he could only get a fairly poor looking set done in such a short time so he abandoned the task and made his way to where Ria was waiting. sorry Queen was all he had to say to the gold queen when she bespoke him. "Ready M'lady?" he asked Ria as he slipped his arm into her's and then proceeded to the candidate barracks for the inspection. He took a moment to look around before calling out to all the candidates "Okay all of you fall in now." was all he said.
He waited until they were ready and then began "I am S'nar yous new Weyrleader and all of you should know Ria the Weyrwoman. We are having a large meeting in a few hours and want to go over afew things with all of you." He began and then paused to allow Ria to say something if she wished...

The golden dragon snorted at S'nar, ruffling his hair with her hot breath, Henareth, if you please S'nar. And Ria is inside waiting for you. She currled her head around again and closed her eyes, feigning sleep.
Ria looked up as S'nar entered the weyr. Her "good" rank coards were attatched to her shoulder, it had taken her longer than she had expected to find her coards. She never wore the sharding things. "Just a moment." and with a shy smile, Ria disengaged her arm from his briefly so that she could slide the coards that she had found up his arm and attach them to his shoulder. Once they were in place, she slid her arm back through his and twined her fingers into his for the short walk down to the cantidate baracks. There were actualy few cantidates right at the moment, but that would change. Henareth would clutch, and then the junior queens would fly and clutch. As S'nar started to speek, Ria smiled. She doubted that any of these cantidates would know what to do in an inspection. Once S'nar stopped speaking she addressed them, "Please, come stand by the end of your cots to listen. This is important so please pay attention." This was such a familiar action, talking to the cantidates after a flight, but it was so different with S'nar at her side.

Lidi looked up at the summons and automatically went over to the edge of her cot. She looked around at the place and couldn't find anything specifically wrong with it. She decided to just wait until inspection was over with. There wasn't really anything else to do. Lidi was a little bit nervous about what it might mean, but other than that, things were going fine. She decided the best thing to do was to just stand and wait. It was just inspection after all, and Ria had said it was important as well. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and then opened them again. Lidi was ready and waiting now. She jumped around a bit in anticipation, and then stayed quite calm, determined to at least look good in front of the Weyrwoman. She waited for everyone else so whatever Ria wanted to say could get out.

Setheatolten responded to the summons rather easily. He just got up and stood, then looked around. Everyone else was still doing the same, so there must be a bit of time before Ria started to talk. He didn't know what she wanted, but if she said it was important, he was going to listen to her. With that thought in mind, he stood perfectly still, looking at the Weyrwoman. He wasn't really nervous, there wasn't anything to be worried about, and he was actually a bit curious. Setheatolten didn't know what there might be to mention, but if there was something to be said, he was going to stand there and wait for it.

Anton looked up from where he had been reading on a hide. His bed was neatly made and all his belongings had been stashed away in order. He wasn't a messy person, but he did tend to get up early in the morning and cleaning was the only thing that he could do that wouldn't wake up the other cantidates. It felt strange to Anton to be in a room with the much younger cantidates. This would not be the first time that he had lived in these baracks, but the eggs did not crack right for him. It wasn't that he minded being in with the younger ones, he just wasn't used to it. As a journyman healer, he had been with the other journymen in the hall and then once he was transfered to the weyr he had been given separet quarters. With a sigh, Anton got up from where he sat and, with some defference to his dormmates' less adjusted stomack controle, laid the hide picture side down. Anton knew that few could stomack even a peak at the medical images on that hide. With aquired grace, he swung his long legs off the side of the cot, wishing that the cot was longer, and stood, being careful not to hit his head on the lower beams. That was another thing that was mildy unsettling about these baracks, they were built for the shorter, younger cantidates, not the tall lank Anton. He walked to the end of his bed with hunched shoulders and only straitened when he found a gap in the supports where he could stand his full hight. With currious glance, he watched the weyrleader and weyrwoman. He knew Ria, she had been senior weyrwoman when his mother had fallen and he had come to take up a residence here. S'nar was a different matter, new to his standing, he was unknown as a rider. Anton wondered if he had once treated the young weyrleader, but all the bronze riders' faces blended together. Anton could remember S'nar from the lower caverns, he was only three turns older than Anton, Anton even remembered the weyrleader impressing, that had been a meiserly clutch, but had had fine beast in it. After that though, Anton had failed to impress and had been sent away to the healer hall. It wouldn't have surprised him if the weyrleader didn't even recognise him. The two looked well attached so that seemed to boad well for an interval leadership. With that, Anton resigned himself to wait quietly with his hands loosly clasped behind his back, an amusing sight for sure, with his head in the rafters.

Taw had been bussling about, as was normal for her, when the weyr leadership entered the barracks. "Shards" she muttered under her breath and took a moment to look over her stuff. "Shards again" she muttered once more when she realized that she had redoing her area and it was now a mess, uh oh. She kicked some stuff under her bed and then threw the bed together before sighing and moving to start at the foot of her bed, like the rest of the candidates. She wasn't too familiar with either of the leaders, but then again no one ever was, were they? She heard the weyrwoman say it was important so she was set to listen intently.

Aldril jumped up from his cot and immediately went to the end, standing there and trying not to stare at the Weyrwoman and Weyrleader. He wasn't sure what the inspection was going to entail, but his small portion of the barracks was neat. He glanced at the other candidates, wondering if anyone else was nervous. Since he was Holdbred, Aldril had never seen the Weyrleaders before and it was hard not to be intimidated by them.

S'nar watched as all the candidates jumped out of their beds and moved to the ends of them as instructed. He took a mental note of who was really ready and who had been kinda slacking off. Also he made certain to remember they most of them were new. "Good morning everyone. Okay so for our meeting you all will be there, but you are to sit in the back after everyone else is in and all the dragons have been looked to. At this meeting Ria and I will introduce ourselves to the whole weyr and to the lord holder. Please be aware that if you mess up here it may not serve you well." he paused for a moment. "Also once the meeting is over chores will begin. They will include cleaning the sands, the barracks, the weyrs, etc." he stopped to give Ria a chance to speak.

Ria smiled at them, knowing that some of them would be nervouse and there were others that were just curious. Her left hand reached up and patted S'nar's arm where her other had was clasped. Then she began to speek, "I know that the thought of begining with these chores seems unpalatable to some of you, but we have reasons for assigning them to you. THough the dragons chose every one of you on search, that does not meen that you will stand on the sands for sure. The dragons are wise and know such things about you, but you must show us that you can live up to the standards required of you. The Weyr will put the character into you that impressing requires." Ria gently slipped her hand out from where she held S'nar's arm and walked down the lines, looking at each cantidate. She knew that she would have to know them all. She tried not to smile as she stopped infront of Anton, he did look silly with his head in the rafters, but she addressed him, "Anton, you will be exempt from some of these duties and chores, but only because I expect you to continue your healer duties to us as well. If and when you impress, I will ask the Masterhealer for an apprentice or another journyman to act as your assistent, though I would like to keep you as our weyrhealer(ooc://Mentoe told me of his wish so I put this in)." WIth that Ria returned to S'nar's side and looked over the cantidates again. "Today, some of your untidyness will be overlooked, but in the future, I expect you to keep your areas neat. Report to the Lower Caverns in one hour to begin greating, seeting, and seeing to our guest's comfortability. It is our job to offer the utmost hospitality." Ria smiled at S'nar, allowing him another chanse to speek to the cantidates himself again.

Lidi jumped up and down a little in anticipation, and then was very calm, determined to not look disrespectful in front of them. She didn't care much for chores, no one did really, but she was happy to get to be at the Weyr at all, and if it would help her to Impress to a dragon, then there was no reason to complain. She was wondering what chores she might just assigned, although she assumed that she could just do them regardless if they didn't get assigned anything specific. She promised herself to always be tidy from now on so no one had anything to look at her bad for.
The anticipation was still exciting her, but once they left she would have an hour to get ready. Lidi hadn't been around to much at all, but now was her chance to meet some important people, even if she wouldn't be doing very much while she was at it. It was still going to be fine by her. She was a little curious as to what being on the Sands was really like, but knew there would be a time to find out.

Anton's muscles tightened as Ria stopped infront of him and addressed him. She was so close, no one ever came so close to him unless they were his patients. It was aquard to look a look down at Ria, he was over a foot taller than she was. As she spoke, he nodded. It had seemed compleately ordinary that she should expect him to carry on his healing duties. "As you wish, My Lady." Anton inclined his head towards the Weyrwoman. An hour was long enough for a quick bath as well as time to dawn his good cloths. As the weyr's healer and a cantidate, he had to keep his person even cleaner that the others were expected to. Or atleast that is what he told himself.

Taw began to bounce softly as she waited on this to end. She thought about the amount of time that they had been given, Well one hour was better then no time at all, she mused, but her hair needed a good washing and her body wasn't much better. When the weyrwoman passed her on her way to the super tall Anton she stood still, once as soon as she passed resumed her motion. Her eyes went of weyrleader to weyrwoman and back again. She allowed her mind time to drift off to think about the upcoming hatching and the much closer meeting. Why on Pern would they want a huge meeting, but then again she wasn't a leader only a candidate, so she didn't know or really care...
