Ria looked around the packed lower cavern dining room. The entire room was filled with people because, not only was all of the weyrfolk, riders and cantidates there, but the notable people from every hold and hall was in attendence aswell. The buz was almost enough to drive her to drinking. S'nar was at her side though and that was enough to steady herself. Finaly, once she had spotted the lords, the craftmaster, and wingleaders, Ria stood up and raised her hands for silence. She didn't think that she would get any recognition because she was so small. Henareth, be a dear and tell the croud to be quiet. A growling chuckle drifted over their mind link, making Ria smile as well.
It wasn't a moment before a loude bugle echoed through the dining cavern and through the crowd. Now that she was able to be heard, Ria began to speak, "Thank you for comming to this event today. As all of the weyrfolk here know, Henareth rose to mate yesterday and was followed by the bronzes. At the hight of her flight, she was caught by bronze Cinenth. I now wish to introduce Bronze Rider S'nar as your new Weyrleader and as my own weyrmate." With a warm smile, Ria turned and reached her hand back to S'nar. She wanted him to stand beside her, to be as one to the croud.

Lidi was gathered along with the rest of the crowd. It was kind of hard to see with all of the other people around. She got as tall as she could to look over everyone to see the Weyrwoman. While she was wondering what they were going to talk about, she was prepared to wait. When Ria started to speak she listened intently. She knew all about how there had been the Flight yesterday, so she waited patiently for Ria to go on. This couldn't be the entire point of the meeting, after all, that would make it far to short, and pretty pointless. This had to just be the start. Lidi was prepared to wait for the rest.
~~~~~
Setheatolten had gathered with the rest, since they all had too, and was waiting impatiently for this to start. As soon as it did, it could finish up and he could be out of here. The Lower Caverns were packed with people, and he wasn't enjoying it much at all. Everyone didn't seem capable of keeping quiet, and was quite happy when Ria started speaking. Henareth had sounded the start, but everyone was most definitely going to be quiet with someone talking to them all. He stood around as she said the first bit, wondering as to the entire purpose of this meeting.
OOC:// Remember. This is an activity check. You must post here with each one of your characters. Use Wolflover's post as a base if you have multiple characters. If you do not post in this thread, disciplinary actions will be taken. Don't get me wrong, this is not a threat, it is a warning.
IC:// Lord Mentoe had found a seat at the front of the crowded lower caverns. This was the first time that he had ever visited Benden Weyr before, but that was to be expected. Fort Weyr had always been the gathering place for the Holds bound to Fort Weyr but now that Fort was abandoned along with all the other weyrs except Benden, Mentoe knew he would have to become accustomed to this place. It had been curious for the weyrwoman to have sent a bronze for himself and the Masterharper and the Masterhealer. Mentoe quietly appraised the people sitting on the raised platform. It looked, by the shoulder knots to be all the wingleaders, wingseconds, the Weyrwoman, and... The Weyrleader? There hadn't been a weyrleader in Benden for the past turn, not since Rialana's previous Weyrmate had died. Mentoe hadn't thought much of than man, but he was bias since all he had heard of Benden's weyrleader had been channeled to him from Fort's Weyrleader T'ton who never did seem to like the other weyrleaders. Mentoe twitched a little at the bellow from the golden Henareth, but was relieved at the hushed quiet that descended over the packed cavern. Ah, no wonder Henareth had bellowed, Rialana was coming up to speak. Mentoe listened intently as the Weyrwoman spoke and nodded in understanding. Now that that made sense, he could wonder what the rest of the meeting would be about. Mentoe would be patient, after all, S'nar rider of Bronze Cinenth would no doubt have stuff to say.
S'nar stood beside Ria, his height not much greater then her's. He too raises his hand, but no one seemed to notice, rught as he was about to tell Cinenth to bellow the gold's voice was heard ringing though the cavern. He waited and allowed her to begin the meeting after all, everyone knew her. He reached for her hand to grasped it gently once she finished speaking, he waited a moment and then began. it is a pleasure to stand before you all. As Rialena, just said I am S'nar rider of bronze Cinenth and the new weyrleader of Benden Weyr. He paused for a moment This meeting was called so that we could all meet, but also to discuss several important issues at hand. The first being the upcoming clutch. We will be sending search riders out shortly to begin collecting candidates. The second is more geared toward the weyrfolk, chores and tasks will start tomorrow morning. The third point is the disappearance of the other weyrs. We are looking into every possibility, if anyone has any idea then you are welcome to speak with Rialena or me. He stopped there to let everyone consider everything that he had just said.
Taw was with the rest of the candidates and crowd waiting on the start. The bellow from the queen startled her, but she then listened intently until S'nar go tot the part about chores and then she moaned. Oh well she thought, she then let her mind wonder to the upcoming clutch and the hatching that was sure to follow. It was exciting to think about and she could not wait for it...
Post by B'dob and Bronze Thrandath on Feb 27, 2010 3:23:24 GMT -5
B'dob looked up at the platform from where he sat at the front of the croud. There were dark baggs under his eyes and his beard was not trimmed. He had almost not come to the meeting, but Thrandath had to become a pain and wouldn't let him sleep it off. B'dob didn't resent S'nar persay, but he was deffinatly not feeling any good will towards the younger rider. But that was always the way one felt after a flight, one that was not a catch. He forced a smile out though, just for the benafit of the guests. They had to see the united front of the weyr as a whole. He wondered, as it seemed everyone had, where had the other weyrs gone?
Anton was huvoring at the back of the croud of people, looking around, observing. He was freashly washed and felt almost too clean in this room of people. Maybe that was just a reaction to being around people that hadn't taken a bath minutes ago. He had dutifuly done his duties and had escorted visitors in and seated them, taking expecial pleasure in greeting his MasterCrafter. It had been too long since he had left the healer hall, and it may become a perminant arangement. Anton consoled himself that with a dragon, he could return to the hall whenever he wanted so that he could compleate his studies for his mastery. Anton wasn't paying too much attention to the weyrleaders, he had already heard it that morning, but his mind jumped to the missing weyrs. Plague tickled the forfront of his mind but it was just as "un"plosible as any other explenation that had been presented. No one would probably know.
Ria had a little smile on her face as S'nar spoke about the clutch, Squeesing his hand in hers. That was always the pay off after a flight and sometimes, it made you feel better after a bad flight. This flight needed to forgiving. She was glad that she didn't have to worry about searching, that had to be tough, telling someone that they were acceptable would be one thing but she didn't think that she could tell someone that they were not acceptabel. Her smile dissapeared when she S'nar started to speek about the missing weyrs. Her previous weyrmate had been feverish when he neared the end. He had babbled on and on about the missing weyrs. Ria knew she shouldn't say anything, and so far she had kept her mouth shut. Timetravel shouldn't be spread through the weyr, too much trouble would come of it. She hoped dearly that no one would ask her her oppinion, could she make up a convinsing lye about her own thoughts? Uncontiously she dropped her eyes to the floor and her hand slackened in S'nar's, it would have fallen to her side if he had not been grasping it.
He felt her hand slacken and paused for a moment worried about her, but he knew that he could ask her about it later. He then waited to see if anyone had any thoughts on the disappearance of the other weyrs, but no one rose. She he encouraged Ria to look up as he motioned to the kitchens, It seems then, that all business is finished here. If anyone has any private matters to discuss then please come speak with me. Also if anyone knows of a person that could stand, please let me know. With that please everyone stay and join us for breakfast and then chores will be assigned. he knew the last part would insight some moans, but everyone knew they were nessicary.
