Blood of the Dragons is set in an alternate 4th pass. The genetic engineering used in Todd MacCaffrey's Dragon's Blood has had some unexpected long term affects. As the generations passed, the colors of the dragons changed. Subtlely at first, then more quickly until the first new dragon was hatched! The largest dragon ever to exist on Pern. She was quickly followed by another, smaller clutching dragon. Together these two rare creatures will help the near empty Telgar fill its weyrs again.
The last Gold of Telgar has laid her last clutch. Rider and dragon are now too old and joint stiff to move, or fly. They wait patiently for the day they can go between forever, leaving their beloved Telgar in the hands of these peculiar new female dragons.
We are in need of some instant riders and many candidates! But prepare to be surprised! For this hatching will reveal colors you've never seen on dragon's hide!
