General:
+ I strongly recommend you read the Dragonriders of Pern®, by Anne McCaffrey, before joining
+ Please refrain from posting one-liners. Put some thought into your posts
+ No powerplaying, which is when you decide the other character's actions/reactions for them
+ No godmoding, which is when your character cannot be harmed and has "god-like" qualities
+ No sexually explicit content. Mating flights will be roleplayed until the point the female is caught, at which point there will be a black out
+ Keep foul language to a minimum. Pernese oaths, such as "By the egg", "Shards!". etc will suffice
+ Listen to admins and mods at all times. The Lord Holder/Craft Master/Weyrleader is in complete control of their respective jurisdiction. Apprentices must answer to journeymen, who answer to their masters, who answer to their Craft Masters.
+ Roleplay in the past tense, third person
+ Ensure that your character is in only one thread at a time. If, in order to keep an appointment/Threadfall, etc, it will be allow to do a "Time-jump," when your character plays in the "future" to keep their appointments. Keep track of the present, though.
Characters:
+ You are permitted one account on which you can have as many characters as you can keep active. You must have a list of all your characters in your signature, and be sure you are clear which character you are role-playing with in a post.
+For each and every character, you must create a profile. You do not need a sample post, but your profile needs to be detailed enough so that we get a good feel as to what your character is like. If we ask you to tweak things, don’t be offended in the least! We just want to make sure there aren’t any extreme oddities out there.
+ In collaboration with all your characters, you are only allowed one Lord Holder, one Weyrleader/Weyrwoman, or one Craft Master (of Pern)
-----The Policy for High Positions:
+There will be a special activity check only for the Weyrleader, Weyrwoman, Lord Holder and Craftmaster on the 15th of every month. The check will be open for 48 hours.
+If you do not post in the activity check (barring a post in the Away Board or some other notification), you will get a 10% warning. Every successive week of not posting will result in an additional 10% warning. With a warning of 30% or greater, you lose your position, but not your character (basically just an IC demotion).
+For every week you post after you are warned you'll lose 5% of your warning. However, your character will not be returned to its high position.
+In the case of a demotion, that position will automatically go up for audition.
+For the position of Weyrleader, a successor will either be decided by role-playing out another Flight (if it's timely), or just appointing a runner up for the previous Flight to be the "stand-in" Weyrleader until the next Flight.
+The position of Lord Holder and MasterHarper will be decided in a OOC audition that will include the judging of either a role-play example or a biography.
+ The Crafts will be as follows:
-----Harper
+ The Crafts and the number of Main Holds and Weyrs will be increased/decreased based on the amount of members and activity
+ You are permitted to create characters of Crafts that do not have a Craft Hall. If we've got enough Tanners, or Weavers, or another Craft, a new Hall will be created.
+ At this time only, you are allowed to join as a dragonrider. We need plenty of bronzes, browns, blues and greens. Queen rider sign-ups are disabled. All dragonrider sign-ups will be disabled once the Weyrs have a nicely sized population, probably around 20-30 fighting dragons.
+ There are only the canon dragon colors: Females can ride greens and golds, and males can ride greens, blues, browns and bronzes
+ If you are a dragonrider, be realistic when playing / interacting with your dragon
Weyrlife:
Mating Flights:
---------For Queens:
+ All the bronze and brown dragons are allowed to attempt to fly a queen when she rises. Bronze dragons, being larger and stronger, will naturally have the advantage. The winning dragon will be decided based on past attachments, quality of role-playing, physical aptitude, and any additional guidelines the rider of the queen sets.
--------For Greens:
+ Any male dragon is allowed to attempt to fly a green, but generally only blues and browns participate. The winning dragon will be decided on past attachments, quality of role-playing, physical aptitude, and any additional guidelines the rider of the green sets.
If your character rides a female dragon and you want her to mate:
-Make sure she is old enough. Maturity comes to greens at about a Turn and to queens at about three. After their first flight, they usually rise once a year.
-PM the Weyrwoman and/or Weyrleader at least one week before you want your dragon to rise for permission and to discuss any guidelines you want to set.
Impression:
+ Once a queen has clutched, select dragonriders will fly on Search to the Holds and Craft Halls to find suitable candidates. Search candidates must be between 12 to 20 Turns of age*, and they must be posted with in the Search thread. Generally, any candidate presented will be taken back to the Weyr. Once at the Weyr, where candidates will be instructed by weyrfolk, they will be judged based on quality of role-playing and personality to decide whether or not they will Impress. When the eggs Hatch, roleplayers selected by the Weyrwoman/Weyrleader will post all of the hatchlings Impressing their selected partner. Once Impression is made, the role-player of the new weyrling will take over role-playing the dragon.
*There can be exceptions to this rule. PM the Weyrwoman or Weyrleader to discuss younger or older Impressions.
Fire-Lizards:
+ For the moment, you have to earn the right to own a fire-lizard, you can't just add one into your profile
-----A prior member has supplied firelizard icons if anyone wants to use them! Right click the image you want and click properties for the url.
